Hello I'm Devan

Crucev Sweet Addictions LLC. was founded by myself, Devan Burton in 2019. Being a cake artist isn't what I thought I'd be doing. I grew up in Kansas City, MO where I dreamed of being in the Fashion & Entertainment Field. I spent 3+ years at Missouri State University studying fashion, arts and entertainment management. After a few years I changed my major. Currently Double Majoring in Human Resources and Business Administration.

Having baked cakes and cupcakes for family and friends has always been my favorite thing to do; I soon found that baking and designing was my passion. I have been baking since the time I could could climb up on a stool and help my Mom in the kitchen. I've always dreamed of being an artist. I certainly wouldn’t have guessed that the art and science of baking would become my life Career. 

During the pandemic lockdown, I decided to make my first cake and that was it. Within three months I had started my desserts' business. And so far I've made over 100 cakes for many different people. One of the things that I think is absolutely necessary in a business is to constantly be growing and evolving. Not only to fit your client's needs but to find your niche. As I created such a wide variety of desserts, I found that cakes were my favorite creations.

People have asked, What does Crucev mean? I named my business after both of my children; Chruz and Cevyn. I gather my motivation from my two children as I care for them while managing all day to day operations of Crucev Sweet Addictions LLC.  I shared how my kids get to choose the flavor of their birthday cake every year and they get pretty creative! Above all else, I prioritize providing memorable moments for my clientele. I use all of my experience and knowledge obtained over the past few years to educate, inspire, and brighten everyone's days!
