Our cakes are lovingly handmade by our highly skilled cake designer Devan, and are therefore delicate by nature.
In order to ensure that you enjoy your purchase in perfect condition, we have prepared the following information on how to carefully transport, store and serve your Crucev cake!
Carry your cakes carefully.
Please ensure that you read the information carefully as we at Crucev Sweet Addictions cannot be held liable for damaged items caused by incorrect handling and transportation, once the purchase has been handed over to the customer.
1. Bags and boxes should be held upright, steady and level to avoid decorations from falling off, or a cupcake from toppling over.
2. Try not to hold more than one bag or box in one hand as this will make the cakes tilt and slide.
3. Party cakes shouldn’t be stacked on top of each other, to avoid decorations getting squashed.
4. If transporting by car, please place cake boxes onto a level, non-slip surface and try to avoid bumpy roads!
5. Long journeys can cause the icing to soften, and on this basis please try to avoid your purchase being left outside the fridge for more than 30 minutes (or about 15 minutes in warm weather).
Pick Up: Make sure you have enough room in your car for the size cake you are purchasing. If you do not have a clean level space, please bring someone to hold the cake.
Please transfer your cakes into the fridge as soon as possible, and keep them away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Decorations such as cake toppers (if supplied separately) should be kept at room temperature.
The cake should be refrigerated up to 1-3 hours before serving. Remove cake from refrigerator and let sit at room temperature to develop best flavor and texture. Tiered cakes take longer to warm up, so let sit at least 2 hours before serving. Store leftover cake in refrigerator. (Red Velvet, Carrot, Fruit and cakes with Cream Cheese Frosting should stay refrigerated up to 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving) Never freeze a fondant cake.
Unless stated otherwise, our cakes and cupcakes should be stored in the fridge and have the following shelf life from the day of purchase:
Cupcakes and Tartlets: 24 hrs (refrigerated)
Layer Cakes and Macarons: 48 hrs (refrigerated)
All cakes taste at their best if eaten at room temperature on the day of purchase.
For maximum flavor and a soft, moist texture we recommend removing the cake from the fridge 1 to 3 hours before consumption, and cake slices and cupcakes 20 to 30 minutes in advance (subject to room temperature).
1. Remove any candles, decorations, cake dowels and sugar paste plaques (if applicable) before slicing your cake.
2. Refer to the cake portion guide below if you need help working out the number of slices.
3. Layer cakes are best sliced with a large plain edged kitchen knife. Clean knife after each cut.
We are not responsible for any damage to the cake or dessert after pick-up or after setup is complete. The client is responsible for providing an appropriate and secure table and environment for the cake(s)/cupcakes. Cakes/cupcakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal room temperature of 75 degrees or below.
If you or your representative elects to pick up and set up the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves the possession of Crucev Sweet Addictions. In the case of fresh flower usage on the cake, the responsibility of the flower safety and safe food practices will rest with the florist and not with Crucev Sweet Addictions. The person placing this order should obtain a notice of plant safety, in question, from the florist.
We are not responsible for any damage to the cake caused by the placement of flowers by another party or other items on the cake.
Your order may include non-edible decorations or components, such as figurines, cake dowels or cocktail sticks. Please ensure that these are removed before cutting and serving the cake. If you are unsure, please call us at 816-621-5128. Tall and Tired cakes will have dowels inside the cake for support.
Grab your clingiest plastic wrap (or non-plastic wrap!) and wrap the cake tightly, at least two times. You can throw in an extra wrap for good measure. Cake will last up to three months in the freezer. But the universal law of freezing applies here as well: the longer you freeze it, the duller it gets.
Remove cake, frosted or unfrosted, from the freezer and transfer it to the fridge the day before you want to serve it. Don't unwrap your cake just yet; as your cake thaws, it will remove moisture in the form of condensation. Your cake will take at least eight hours to thaw in the refrigerator. Then you can unwrap
